Most of this work has been completed through my job at UC San Diego within the IT department. I am the sole graphic designer working in outreach, and many of these projects I have conceptualized, designed, created, and distributed myself. I use a MAC and the site is best viewed in Firefox. This project was cenceptualized as a way to reach a varied student population in a short amount of time. UC San Diego has been a target for the RIAA and our students were being warned with Subpoenas. We needed to get the word out in a way that would catch eyes and be absorbed. These posters were distributed throughout each of the 6 campuses. Each week 250 new sauare posters were blanketed across the campus. We followed up with table tents on thousands of dining tables (below) and a whole page ad in the UCSD Guardian (below)

Campbell Brothers Surfboards

The Campbell Brothers Surfboard Company opened its doors to a new store on the North Shore in Hawaii. I created a few shirt ideas for the new store as well as the movie poster below which advertises the "Shaping the Industry" film documentary about the Campbell Brothers. (see movies to view the film)

System Administrator Expo

The UCSD System Administrators have a monthly meeting to catch up on Geek-speak and IT Garble. However, they didn't really feel like their jobs were getting the attention they needed. Our outreach group came up with the idea of creating a "Fall Expo" that would really bring the campus together. It included information for old and new Admins and we hoped that our attention to design would give them a sense of belonging. These posters were 2 ' by 3 ' and were hung around the room.

2007 ResNet Symposium

I was appointed the co-chair for the ResNet Symposium 2007. This was a national conference attracting over 300 University Resnet Administrators. We had a record turn out with record vendor support due much in fact to our great vendor packet sent out (see below). Here's more info on the ResNet Symposium.

UCSD Women's Crew

I was a proud member of the UCSD Women's crew team as the varsity 8 coxswain and a lightweight rower. I still help coach the coxswains and go for the occasional row. I also do a lot of media work for the team. This year we hit the campus hard with an aggressive recruitment campaign that brough in the largest novice crew since 2002!

Stormworm Security Campaign

Stormworm is that nasty email virus going all over the place. You might recognize it as the "You have a greeting card from a friend" virus that plagues your inbox every week. Well that thing was about to hit our network and in Fall 2007 we needed to act agressively to make sure students, staff, and faculty didn't connect an infected computer to our network. We aggressively plastered the campus with "Stormworm" info and kept that cute little worm around to warn those who had already been infected. Thanks to our work we have seen a significant decrease in these machines on our network and also prevented what could have been a very detrimental virus attack.

Logo/Print Design

These are prototypes for our Group logo. I won the contest using the red box one and our group of 100 computer nerds now has a cute blue shirt bearing the logo. This project brought together our large group into a cohesive team and really made us one solid group. The ResNet Guide below is totally different. This guide basically took a 15 page book distributed to new students and cut down the paper. Now instead of freshmen having to thumb through a boring computer guide whenever they lose their internet, they have a handy--and well designed--one page sheet to look at. The cleared page saved thousands of dollars in printing and distribution costs, and actually most students proudly hang this on their dorm walls.
